For concrete or dirt specifically, a larger tear-out may call for the 15 yard's higher weight allowance, but bigger isn't automatically better — the weight limit still caps the load before volume does either way. What Doesn't Fit and Weight Considerations

The 1–2 ton allowance is generous for household or remodel debris but tight for dense material — a full load of concrete, brick, or dirt can hit that ceiling while the box still looks half-empty, so tell us upfront if that's what you're hauling. Major appliances — refrigerators, washers, dryers, water heaters — can't go in any size container; S.C. Code § 44-96-200 bans these “white goods” from landfill disposal, so they need to be routed through appliance recycling instead. Whole tires are banned from landfill disposal outright under S.C. Code § 44-96-170, with a $2 fee at time of sale or disposal, and belong at a registered tire retailer, not in the box. Lead-acid batteries are barred by S.C. Code § 44-96-180 and go to a battery retailer or recycler instead. South Carolina also has a statewide electronics and TV landfill ban in effect since July 2011, so TVs, monitors, and computers can't go in either.
