The 40 yard makes sense when the job is bigger than a single whole-house project — a demolition, a commercial fit-out, or a construction site with sustained volume. If your project is one house or one moderate renovation, the 30 yard usually covers it without paying for space you won’t need. What Doesn’t Fit / Weight Considerations

The 5–6 ton weight allowance is our highest, but it’s still not unlimited — a 40 yard filled with concrete, brick, or masonry debris can hit that ceiling well before the container looks full, so a job like that is usually better served by a smaller size paired with a dedicated heavy-debris plan. Whole tires are banned outright from South Carolina landfills under S.C. Code § 44-96-170, plus a $2 fee at time of sale or disposal — those go to a registered tire retailer. Lead-acid batteries are banned under § 44-96-180 and belong at a battery retailer or recycler. Major appliances fall under the state’s “white goods” ban, § 44-96-200.
